ABOUT EDDIE
  • I love my wife, my family, music, medieval history and MMO gaming (DDO and EQ2, mostly). Also PnP D&D and just hanging out at home and enjoying the quiet sounds of Bear Creek
FAVORITE QUOTES
  • So live your life that the fear of death can never enter your heart.
Trouble no one about their religion; respect others in their view, and demand that they respect yours.
Love your life, perfect your life, beautify all things in your life.

Seek to make your life long and its purpose in the service of your people.
Prepare a noble death song for the day when you go over the great divide.
Always give a word or a sign of salute when meeting or passing a friend, even a stranger, when in a lonely place. Show respect to all people and grovel to none.

When you arise in the morning give thanks for the food and for the joy of living.
If you see no reason for giving thanks, the fault lies only in yourself.

Abuse no one and no thing, for abuse turns the wise ones to fools and robs the spirit of its vision.

When it comes your time to die, be not like those whose hearts are filled with the fear of death, so that when their time comes they weep and pray for a little more time to live their lives over again in a different way.

Sing your death song and die like a hero going home.

    Tecumseh, Shawnee Nation 1768-1813

I am the world that hides
The universal secret of all time
    Destruction of the empty spaces
Is my one and only crime

    I lived a thousand times
I found out what it means to be believed
The thoughts, the images the unborn child that never was conceived

Featured Author of the Week – Jess Mountifield 01/11/2014

Jess was born in the quaint village of Woodbridge in the UK, has spent some of her childhood in the States and now resides in the beautiful Roman city of Bath. She lives with her husband Phil and her very dapsy cat, Pleaides. Jess can often be found either in a cafe, grinning behind a large mug of hot chocolate, at her desk, getting annoyed with her cat for sitting on her keyboard, or on her comfy corner sofa with friends, enjoying a vast array of films.

Featured Author of the Week – Colleen Hoover

Colleen Hoover’s love for writing began in 1985 when she was five years old. Her first story was titled “Mystery Bob” and was a huge hit with her mother, who was really good at faking interest.
Colleen continued to write short stories for friends and family until December of 2011, when she decided to write a long story she titled, “Slammed.” She self-published SLAMMED to Amazon in January, 2012 and it hit the NYT’s bestsellers list in May, 2012. She has since signed with Atria Books, a division of Simon & Schuster, and now has six NYT’s bestsellers. Colleen prefers to be called a writer, as the term “author” still terrifies her and makes this feel like a job with expectations. She doesn’t work well under pressure and hopes writing will always remain fun and exciting.
Colleen’s newest novel, UGLY LOVE, releases August 5th, 2014. She is currently working on a new novel, CONFESS, which she is writing as fast as she can before she wakes up from this crazy dream.

You can follow Colleen on Instagram and Twitter @colleenhoover. You can also find her on her blog at http://www.colleenhoover.com where she holds a daily book-a-day giveaway, or on her very active Facebook page at http://www.facebook.com/authorcolleenhoover where she loves to give away more free stuff when her husband isn’t looking.

Colleen also wants the world to know that writing short biographies in third person is incredibly awkward.

This weeks Featured Author – L.S. Burton

L.S. Burton lives in Corner Brook, Newfoundland, where he works as a writer and freelance editor. Though his stories are diverse, they all revel in the music and harmony of words, and celebrate imagination. In 2011, Burton was awarded the Percy Janes Award for Best Unpublished First Novel in the Newfoundland and Labrador Arts and Letters Competition for his novel Raw Flesh in the Rising. In 2013, he published the first installment of his genre-defying This Land series.

Andy Downs – Featured Author of the week 12/14/2014

Andy was born and grew up in Bedfordshire in the UK. He was a dreamy child who had as many imaginary adventures as he did real ones in the river and fields near his family home. Many summer days were spent building rafts (that usually sunk) and floating down the river with his friends. When it rained, he would spend hours daydreaming about hidden doorways to underground worlds where strange creatures lived.

After twenty years as an engineer, he wanted to spend more time on enjoyable and creative pursuits, and now writes horror stories, teaches classical guitar, is a keen amateur ornithologist and enjoys woodwork.

A note from the author.
Like most authors, I like to hear what readers think of my books. I don’t write to earn a living, it’s purely the enjoyment of writing and hearing that you have enjoyed reading them. So if you have an opinion and the time, I would appreciate your comments. You can leave them on Goodreads, Facebook, Google+ or email me directly through my website.

I’d love to hear from you.
