The Phantammeron covers the epic history of a fantasy world, whose creation and conflict revolves around the enchanted waters of an ancient pool. The global struggle surrounding the pool, and the redemption of the characters tragically affected by it, is the main theme in the series.

In Book One of the Phantammeron, a new world is created for the Primordial Ones. But their savage conflicts soon destroy the world their father had made. The last of their children must face the sad fate of their fallen world and the sinister beings that rise up to complete its destruction. A mystical tree in the haunted forests of Phantaia and the strange waters of a cursed pool will lead them to a greater truth.

Welcome to my debut epic fantasy novel, the Phantammeron Book One. The worlds and characters of the Phantammeron are expansive, and will eventually fill 8-12 books. In this first book, I explore the art of mythopoeia (myth-making) through modern storytelling, sharing the birth of my fantasy world through creation stories, classic tragedy, and hero-journey motif’s. I have merged my interest in mytho-poetic writing and ancient mythology with concepts of modern fantasy tropes, attempting to use the entertaining qualities of modern protagonist-driven storytelling in combination with the magic and wonder of mythology.

The Phantammeron is inspired directly by European fairy tales, Celtic views of nature, Nordic verse, and primitive Indo-European mythology, all of which connect so beautifully with the Western intellect and storyteller. It is my hope you will enjoy the Phantammeron series and seek to explore its many mysteries, knowing that my interest extends beyond modern storytelling and enters the realm of the deeper psychological mythology that is found in us all.
