The Pain

A table sits,

By the window sill,

On it sits,

My white pill,

Do I take it,

And be free,

Of this pain,

I agree,

God did gives us,

All sorts of things,

Relief from pain,

Right now means everything,

If I take the pill,

It will bring relief

Joy and laughter,

No more grief,

But it makes me sick,

And I want to sleep,

Nothing gets done,

My chores grow deep,

I guess for now,

I will do without,

My mouth will ache,

As I go about,

Then when all,

My work is done,

I will raise the flag,

The pain has won.

If I am afraid to speak the truth, lest I lose affection, or lest the one concerned should say, “You do not understand,” or because I fear to lose my reputation for kindness; if I put my own good name before the other’s highest good, then I know nothing of Calvary love.

Black veils hiding ones own existence.

Lock tight those reminiscences,

Remember long-ago.

Wonder in tight torment,

For this moment is all you know,

Then it too will go.

No name, only emptiness.

People come and go not recognized.

Just fleeting shadows in the motions of life.

Shadows move in aimless recollection,

Empty direction, with limited perception.

Hold tight to the air you breathe,

Then at last you may see.

Then again it is gone,

Lost in the shadows of vague memories.

Ghostly sights of days of old,

Reaching out so you will know,

Wonder in tight torment,

For this moment is all you know,

Then it too will go.

Wonder in whom you are, then you know,

Then it too will go.

Today on Paws4Thought I’d like to welcome a guest interviewer, Joey Kupfer.

Joey recently had the privilege to talk with a very elusive celebrity Debbie the Ferret. Debbie took a break from her tough sleep schedule in order to answer a few of Joey’s questions.

JOEY:  We know you’re really good on the computer (so am I), what other household devices or machines would you like to try or have your tried?

DEBBIE:  As you know Joey, ferrets are very small, so I’m limited in the kind of household devices I can use. I can handle the TV remote and the remote for the CD player, but that’s about it.

JOEY: Who’s your favorite, Charlie (the cat) or Andrew (the human)?

DEBBIE: I love them both, for different reasons. Charlie is my mate, I can talk to him, play with him and occasionally curl up with him. I love Andrew…
