Elizabeth Jasper in her own words…

Born and raised in the NE of England, I spent most of my working life in various administrative capacities in prestigious UK universities, where I organised Summer Schools and Study Tours, as well as carrying out a variety of administrative functions. I liked working for a living – it paid the bills – but I love writing even more. These days I am fortunate enough to be able to write full-time and have completed six novels, all available on Amazon Kindle: The Golden Cuckoo (for children aged 9-13), Lying in Wait, A Bed of Knives and books One and Two in the ‘Meggie’ Series – Meggie Blackthorn (Book One) and Meggie Blue (Book Two). The third book in the series, Jack the Lad, is in progress. I’ve also written a sexy rom-com. The Other No 10,’ under the name Jo Jacobs. All my books are available in paperback. My primary aim as a writer is to entertain and engage my readers. I write across genres in order to expand my characters beyond the stereotypes often found in genre books and no matter how dark the material, I hope I can raise a smile or two along the way. A tear is even better.

Elizabeth’s also contributed a great story, Danse Macabre (also available to download from Amazon) is in Brandon Hale’s Vampire and Zombie book, The Bitten.

T.R. Harris - Featured Author Week of August 10, 2014.

T.R. Harris – Featured Author Week of August 10, 2014.

Hello Everyone!
My name is Tom Harris and I write under the name of T.R. Harris. Check out my blog at: bytrharris.com.

I currently have a best-selling science fiction series available entitled The Human Chronicles Saga, with five books in Part One and three books in Part Two.

The books in Part One are: The Fringe Worlds, Alien Assassin, The War of Pawns, The Tactics of Revenge and The Legend of Earth.

Part Two of the series includes Cain’s Crusaders, The Apex Predator and the latest and final book in the sequential series: A Galaxy to Conquer, which was released on April 19, 2014.

The adventures of Adam Cain WILL continue, with the next book due out for Christmas 2014. Check out my website/blog for updates as they become available.

The inspiration for The Human Chronicles series came from an ad for a T-shirt in the old Soldier of Fortune Magazine. It was of a muscle-bound man, holding a smoking gun and standing over a dead dragon-looking thing. The caption read: “I don’t know what it was — but it’s dead!”

This really struck me, the concept of humans not being afraid of anything, and when faced with a challenge as big as the universe, we can overcome any threat with a swagger and a wink! Just think, on the planet Earth we’re the badasses. Why would it be any different in outer space?

The series also introduces the reader to my concept of what a realistic galactic empire would look like — The Juirean Expansion — and how every advanced race shares the same wants, needs and desires as other intelligent beings. It’s not complicated. When you reach a certain level of evolution we all become more or less the same in our motivations.

The books are also written from the most realistic vantage point possible; my characters even have to go to the bathroom now and then! When was the last time you saw that in a sci-fi book. Adam Cain, the main character, also has anxiety attacks, is homesick … and is really pissed-off that he’s been yanked out of his comfortable life back on Earth and thrown into a smelly, disgusting and ‘alien’ universe.

As I say in the books, Adam Cain is an Alien with an Attitude … and he makes everyone around him pay for his bad mood!

The books are quick and easy reads, and have been part of one of the bestselling sci-fi series on Amazon over the past two years. I hope you enjoy them.

Transgression: A Time-Travel Suspense Novel (City of God, Book 1) [Kindle Edition]

R.S. Ingermanson

What If …?

What if you were studying for your Ph.D. in archaeology and decided to take a break from your crummy life by working on an archaeological dig in Israel?

What if you met a great guy in Jerusalem who happened to be a world-famous theoretical physicist working on a crazy idea to build a wormhole that might make time-travel possible … someday?

What if he had a nutball colleague who turned the theory into reality — and then decided to use YOU as a guinea pig to make sure it was safe?

What if the nutball had a gun and went on a crazy, impossible mission to hunt down and kill the apostle Paul?

It’s A.D. 57 when Rivka Meyers walks out of the wormhole into a world she’s only studied in books. Ancient Jerusalem is awesome! Rivka can’t believe her friend Ari Kazan’s theory actually worked. But when she runs into Ari’s whacko colleague, Damien West, in the Temple, Rivka starts to smell a rat.

When Ari discovers that Damien and Rivka have gone through a wormhole that’s on the edge of collapse, he has to make a horrible choice: Follow them and risk never coming back — or lose the woman of his dreams forever

About The Book

Transgression is a time-travel suspense novel that mixes science, history, religion, romance, and suspense. It’s about learning to stand up for yourself, when you just want to be let alone. It’s about making hard decisions. It’s about asking whether life has meaning and whether God exists — and becoming a badass fighter for justice, even if you don’t have the answers.

Transgression won the 2001 Christy award for best futuristic novel in Christian fiction.

Transgression will take you on a wretched, miserable, dangerous vacation through the filthy, bandit-ridden streets of first-century Jerusalem.

Transgression is the first novel in the City of God series:
Book 1: Transgression (A.D. 57)
Book 2: Premonition (A.D. 57-62)
Book 3: Retribution (A.D. 62-66)

Excerpt

Rivka turned and ran. “Ari!” she screamed. “Help!”

She raced outside into the sunlight, sprinted madly through a dark grove of trees with gnarled branches. Her heart pounded in her chest. Her ragged breath rasped in her ears. Was he following? Faster! Tears fogged her eyes. Her leather sandals tore at her feet. Trying to look back over her shoulder, she tripped and fell. Dust flew up all around her.

Coughing, she clambered to her feet and dared to look back. The man was nowhere in sight.

Rivka panted until she caught her breath. Her left wrist throbbed from the fall. She massaged it while she squinted into the trees, afraid that the man might be lurking in the shadows.

Nothing happened.

Finally, she turned around to get her bearings.

She blinked twice and then stared.

Across a small valley massive stone walls rose. Herodian masonry. Jerusalem limestone. Towering white walls. It looked like…

But that was impossible. She closed her eyes, breathed deeply three times, and opened them again. Absurd. Had she gone loony or something?

Rivka had visited the Temple Mount twice and studied hundreds of pictures during three years of graduate school. But she had never seen it looking like this.

So pure.

So spotless.

So new.

Overkill [Kindle Edition]

Steven Shrewsbury , Joshua H. Leet , Matthew Perry

Deliverance will come… A great flood once wiped clean the earth, destroying everything upon it. Before the deluge, in a time now forgotten, the world was a place of warriors and witches, conflicts between kingdoms, and, until their extermination, dragons. In this world, men may live centuries, fallen angels have begotten terrifying spawn, and sometimes, the best hope can be found in a brothel.

In the land of Transalpina, a new religion spreads, and important men are dying mysteriously, slain by what can only be the fire of dragon breath. Summoned by the Queen Garnet, the legendary warrior Gorias La Gaul returns to the place where he once saved the queen’s young granddaughter from treachery and enslavement. The Princess Nykia is gone, and soon others may try to claim the throne. The queen has little choice but to turn to the only man who ever told her no.

With the aid of one of the queen’s elite guard, the battle maiden Alena, and the young palace servant Orsen, the old mercenary will face pirates and traitors, monsters and foul magic in the quest to find the missing heir and learn the truth behind the disconcerting murders. Deliverance will come for Gorias La Gaul, but for now there are women to love, secrets to discover, and killing that needs doing.

Book Review – Generations by John Reinhard Dizon

Review of, Generations by John Reinhard Dizon

John Reinhard Dizon is one of the most gifted writers that I ever read. It was a pleasure reading Generations. His smooth eloquence in transition carries a touch of Dickens, a hint of Hemingway, and a dash of Orwell. However, Dizon has a gift of style all his own which eclipses the talents of most modern day writing artist. I look forward to reading more of his works.

Generations is a compelling story of not only a family whose loves and tragedies span the ages, but of a world growing from the pains of Roman occupation of Britain to today’s chaotic world. The characters burst with life and speak naturally with bountiful words and deeds. I scarcely began the story and it’s over. I was immersed from the very start right to its end. You will find heartwarming scenes that move you to a sigh, and comic relief thrown that will have you chuckling. And of course, tears will flow as age, time, and wars provide back drops for this soul inspiring tale.

I recommend reading this story along with the many others John has to offer…I can’t wait to read the next story following from the mind of John Reinhard Dizon.
