* NEW BOOK BLURB from St. Louis’ own, bestselling author, A.E. Hotchner, pertaining to the chapter that includes an anecdote about him: “Doris Day, A.E. Hotchner, and Me” …..”Charming!” Jan. 2014

Although Becky Lewellen Povich loved books from a very young age, she never considered being an author until later in life.

At 48 years old, she received a phone call that her estranged father was close to death. Her emotions were surprising and overwhelming, and after returning from a visit to be with him, she sat down and words just flowed from her fingertips onto the keyboard. The story she wrote that day was accepted by a local newspaper and gained her a spot as a guest Opinion Shaper columnist. At almost 50 years old, a writer was born!

Each chapter of her memoir is a scene from everyday life and/or unexpected events written in the way only Povich can, with humor and poignancy woven into them, relating tales of both joys and sorrows.

Becky has stories published in a few anthologies, including Chicken Soup for the Soul, Thin Threads, and Patchwork Path; and also newspapers and small magazines. “From Pigtails to Chin Hairs: A Memoir & More” is her first book. She is currently writing the sequel because she has many more stories to share. It is due out in 2015.
